Use of School Patrol Flags on Walking Field Trips
The Saint Paul Police Department, City of Saint Paul Public Works Department, and Transportation Department have an agreement concerning the use of School patrol flags on walking field trips. School Patrol flags may only be utilized on walking field trips under the following circumstances:

1. The flags may only be utilized by regular trained school patrol members
pursuant to the requirements of Minnesota Statutes.

2. Patrol members must wear their school patrol traffic vests while controlling traffic.

3. Patrol flags must not be used to cross against traffic signals.

4. Patrol flags must not be used in the downtown core area.

Utilization of a School Patrol flag on a walking field trip other than outlined above may result in a citation by the Saint Paul Police Department.
