Each school bus driver employed on Saint Paul Public Schools service is required to carry a photo identification card issued by the Transportation Department which identifies the driver as an employee of the School District or of a contractor performing route service for the school district. 

District employed drivers are issued the standard SPPS identification card.   Driver identification cards for contractor employed drivers are distinct from SPPS employee cards and include the drivers photograph, operator number, employing contractor, and expiration date of the card printed on a highly visible green background.
