Welcome to the Saint Paul Public Schools Department of Transportation

The Saint Paul Public Schools provides student transportation service to over 32,000 public, non-public, and charter school students attending over 80 schools and self-contained programs.

The Transportation Department is responsible for the provision of student transportation, scheduling of all field, athletic, and Community Education trips, and for administration of the School Patrol Program.

Eligibility for transportation service is governed by the Board of Education Policy on Transportation Eligibility. Generally, a K-5th grade student must reside one-half mile or more from school and a 6-12th grade student must reside one mile or more from school to be eligible for transportation service.

Transportation Safety is a shared responsibility with the active participation of parents, school staff, and school bus drivers; all who are vital to the student's safety.

The Transportation Department is open on school days during the regular school year from 06:00 AM until the last school bus clears it's afternoon route sequence, generally 6:30-7:00 PM.  The phone number is 651-696-9600.

All information for routing comes from the District student information system.  Please contact the office of the school(s) your children attends if your family is moving, changing child-care, or if you would like to request a different school bus stop.  All changes must come through the school.
